Tension with your mentally ill Loved One

I wrote a free e-book, 5 Steps to Breaking the Tension between You and Your Mentally Ill Loved One. It's available on my website SanityTheBook.com

In a nutshell, I encourage you to back off on the pressure you're putting on your loved one to make them change their behavior or seek help. But do keep the communication open. Ask them how they're doing, and Listen. Shut up and listen. Do this for a month or so, and they'll start to open up. Then Listen some more. This process will take time but is a lot shorter than the years it's taken you to get nowhere by the way you've been doing it... But remember, only your loved one can surrender and make the changes or seek help. But you can break the tension because "Aggression met with Aggression usually Escalates". The e-book also encourages you to bring faith into the equation (even just starting with prayer), to enhance your chances of improving your relationship. God Bless!
